Somerset mum’s delight as part-exchange scheme opens door to dream Wincanton move

A mum-of-three in Somerset and her partner, who has lived in Wincanton all his life, have used a part-exchange scheme to move to a new-build home in the town, so that their children can finally all have their own bedrooms.

Sarah Ball and Andrew Foot have upsized into a four-bedroom Bovis Home along with Joshua, 13, Nathan, 11 and Noah, 2.

Sarah, who has lived in The Chase since the age of 13, moved across town with the family to The Chase location and used the builder’s Home Exchange scheme, which saw Bovis Homes buying their previous property.

The couple’s move means there are now only a few properties left to buy at The Chase, which is located just off the A303 and A371.

Sarah said: “I’ve lived in Wincanton many years and we love it. We were in our previous home, which Bovis Homes bought on a part-exchange basis, for 16 years. Our families and our work are here and it’s a great place for the kids to grow up.

“They love having their own bedrooms and it’s great to have more living space. We love the fact we have a bathroom, en suite and cloakroom, it’s just what you need when you have three children.

“The community spirit at The Chase is really nice too. We’re just by the park, which has recently been refurbished. For the older kids, there’s a skatepark. We have lovely neighbours and we enjoy a natter in the evenings.

“Nathan is starting secondary school in September and it’s only a two-minute walk away, which is fantastic.”

Sarah also had nothing but praise for the support she received from the Bovis Homes team, especially assistant site manager Dave Buckingham.

“Home Exchange is so straightforward and the Bovis Homes team was great in making the whole process very easy,” she said. “Dave has been brilliant with absolutely everything, if ever we’ve needed him, he’s always been there.”

With Home Exchange, Bovis Homes will purchase a home buyer’s current property, meaning they avoid estate agent’s fees and complicated property chains.

The Chase now only has a two-bedroom Arnold, four-bedroom Canterbury and four-bedroom Elias available.
