Survey raises funds for hospice

- 22 Dec 16

Having already raised hundreds of pounds for the Donna Louise Children's Hospice, a local house builder was able to finish the year on a high by donating another £1,000 to the charity with the help of a recent initiative.

Throughout the year, staff at Bovis Homes' Mercia Regional office, based in Dunston Hall Stafford, have been raising funds for the hospice on its dress-down Fridays. And now a new initiative has boosted the fund raising with Bovis Homes pledging £10 for every response they received from a recent employee engagement survey.

"This was a great opportunity for staff to provide the company with feedback as well as raise some money for our regional charity," says Mercia Marketing Manager, Carina Wilde. "These results will be reviewed and help make Bovis Homes an even better place to work. We're thrilled that 100 people completed the survey, enabling us to donate so much to such a worthy cause."

The Donna Louise Children's Hospice Trust was established in 1999 to respond to the need for a children's hospice service in Staffordshire and Cheshire. After much fundraising, in August 2003 the hospice building was finished, opening its doors to families requiring its services.

Vicky Smith, Relationship Manager at Donna Louise Children's Hospice said: "On behalf of all of us, please accept our heartfelt thanks to all of the team at Bovis Homes for the wonderful donation of £1000 that you have so kindly raised for us over the course of the year.

"The Hospice care and support children with life limiting conditions and their families across the whole of Staffordshire and Cheshire. Your donation really helps to make such a difference to our children during their stay here, along with their families."
