Tavistock RFC receives support from local housebuilder on golden anniversary

- 30 Sep 19

Tavistock RFC with Bovis Homes’ sales advisor Helen Hufford
Tavistock Rugby Football Club, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary, has received a welcome sponsorship boost from a local housebuilder.

Bovis Homes has donated more than £2,000 to the west Devon club, including ball, flag and post protector sponsorship, along with a pitch-side board and a programme advert.

Faye Cooper, marketing manager in Bovis Homes’ South West region, said: “The rugby team is passionately supported by the community here. With Bovis Homes’ Tavistock development, The Tors, just a short drive from the club’s grounds, we thought it was important to show our support for this valued local club.

“Tavistock is a close-knit town with a renowned sports college, so it is important that the club is supported like this, to help encourage and inspire the next generation of athletes and budding rugby players.”

Andrew Griffiths, treasurer for Tavistock RFC, said: “Bovis Homes has been an excellent help to us this season. Their sponsorship means we now have brand-new post pads and flags for our 1st XV pitch and some smart-looking match balls, which is particularly special as this is our 50th anniversary year.”
