Tyler is one to watch!

- 17 Nov 21

Trainee assistant site manager, Tyler Gaston has been highly commended in the rising star category of the Bristol Property Awards, proving that at just 20 years of age, he’s one to watch. The awards ceremony took place on Friday 12th November at Ashton Gate and celebrated the best of Bristol property. Tyler joined Vistry Group – which includes Bovis Homes and Linden Homes – in July 2019 following his A levels, after signing up to a school visit at The Orchards development in Thornbury in 2018 and impressing the construction director. He was given three weeks of work experience before being offered a job and has now passed his HNC level four in construction and the built environment, undertaken courses in site management supervision, scaffolding, temporary works, first aid, and fire management, to further his knowledge. Perhaps unusual for most 20 year olds, he enjoys the early mornings and is up at 5.30am, ready to be on site for a 7am start. Speaking about his achievement, Tyler, who lives in Pilning, near Bristol, said: “I’m delighted to be highly commended in the Bristol Property Awards and I couldn’t be happier to find a job that I love, with a clear mapped out career path.” Construction director, Mick Arnold commented: “Tyler’s an intelligent, fast-learning individual with the passion and commitment that matches his enthusiasm to get the job done. He has received glowing comments from customers and subcontractors who have taken the time to acknowledge his contributions on site and he has a fantastic attitude for learning. We’re delighted he’s been recognised in the Bristol Property Awards, it’s well deserved and he’s definitely our rising star.” Tyler is now working at Linden Homes’ Brook Park development in Harry Stoke, alongside his mentor, site manager Paul Brain.
