A Vistry Group regional MD has donated protective kit to the intensive care unit of a West Yorkshire hospital to help support his neighbour and the NHS colleagues working there.

Face masks and more than 1,000 packs of antibacterial wipes have been handed over to staff on the frontline at Bradford Royal Infirmary after being collected from temporarily closed Vistry Yorkshire locations.

Scott Stothard from Vistry Group – which includes Bovis Homes and Linden Homes – arranged for the collection of spare equipment from a number of developments, and further donations have been made by sub-contractors.

Scott, managing director of Vistry Yorkshire, said: “A neighbour of mine works in the ICU department at Bradford Royal Infirmary, which brings this crisis, and the urgent need to make more PPE available for frontline NHS staff, closer to home.

"We have donated a number of spare masks and packs of antibacterial wipes for use by the doctors and nurses, who are doing an absolutely outstanding job for us.”

Any spare PPE normally used on building sites will now be utilised by doctors and nurses in the battle against Covid-19.

The move follows similar donations by Vistry Group in other parts of the country, including Derriford Hospital in Plymouth and Great Western Hospital in Swindon.
