Vistry Group exchanges contracts on 200-home location by Met Office in Exeter

- 29 Apr 20

Vistry Group has exchanged conditional contracts to build 200 homes next to the Met Office in Exeter as part of a joint venture with a Devon-based property development firm.

The proposed Vistry Group location is next to the Met Office
The national housebuilding company, which includes Bovis Homes and Linden Homes and has regional headquarters in the city, has negotiated terms with Salter Property on the Hill Barton deal.

The 11.2-acre location could include 170 houses and 30 flats, including affordable housing, if outline planning consent is secured. Construction would start in 2021 and would be the housebuilding group’s fourth location in the city.

John Parry, land director at Vistry South West, said: “We are really enthusiastic about securing another sales opportunity in Exeter. This site will complement three other existing Vistry locations, which illustrates our continued investment in the city. We're also delighted to be in partnership with Salter Property and believe these homes would be a brilliant addition to this great location.

"We aim to build a high-quality sustainable community, with its own character, and public spaces as well as a road network that prioritises pedestrians and cyclists.”

The location is close to supermarkets and shops, primary schools, a secondary school and it is a short distance from Junction 25 of the M5.
