Vistry Group exchanges contracts on former RAF location in Gloucester

- 20 Apr 20

Vistry Group has exchanged conditional contracts with a Cheltenham-based property company to build homes at a former RAF site in Gloucester.

The Quedgeley site
The national housebuilding company, which includes Bovis Homes and Linden Homes, has regional headquarters in Bishop’s Cleeve, and is set to purchase the 5.91-acre land at the former RAF Quedgeley base in the summer, from Robert Hitchins Ltd.

The site has outline planning consent for 80 homes and is south of Rudloe Drive, close to the Bovis Homes location Oaklands at Hunts Grove.

Mark Slater, land director at Vistry Cotswolds, said: “This is a fantastic result and we'd like to thank everyone involved so far. The acquisition of this site is an exciting opportunity and would make a positive contribution to both the region and our wider business.

“This is a fully serviced site, which forms one of the final phases of a much larger mixed-use development known as former RAF Quedgeley.”

The new Vistry location would include two, three and four-bedroom houses and apartments. The starter and family homes also include affordable housing. Hunts Grove, in Quedgeley, is located south of Gloucester, close to J12 of the M5.

Vistry Group, which also includes Vistry Partnerships, has just been awarded a five-star rating from the Home Builders Federation, following the annual announcement of the industry’s customer satisfaction survey results.
