Vistry Group helps source vital equipment for Wellingborough medical surgery

Vistry Group has helped supply a Wellingborough medical centre with vital face masks for NHS frontline workers.

The housebuilding group – which includes Bovis Homes and Linden Homes – rallied around its subcontractors to support Abbey Medical Practice, on Irthlingborough Road, which is just minutes from Bovis Homes’ Wendelburie Rise location at Stanton Cross.

A GP at the practice contacted Vistry Northern Home Counties asking the regional office, in Milton Keynes, for help to obtain FFP3 masks for healthcare workers assessing Coronavirus patients.

Sandra Washbrook, regional customer care director, ensured a call was put out to all suppliers and contractors, with Jim Brennan, of Nova Plasterboard Systems, coming to the rescue with 10 masks.

Sandra said: “We are all aware of how crucially important it is for healthcare workers to have adequate PPE supplies, so when we received an email from Abbey Medical Practice, we were keen to do whatever we could to help.

“We got in touch with all of our suppliers and contractors across the region and fortunately, Jim was able to promptly provide two boxes of the required FFP3 face masks – 10 in total.  We’re very grateful for Jim’s support.

"From the responses we received, we know many other subcontractors have also donated any spare PPE to local key workers and by working together to do the right thing, we will all help to keep our healthcare professionals safe during these challenging times.”

Jim, joint managing director at the Milton Keynes-based company, added frontline staff needed all the support and praise possible.
