Warwick location is top for health and safety

- 30 Jan 17

A new location in Warwick has been recognised for its high standards of health and safety and has beaten over 100 sites across the country to win a national award.

Bovis Homes' Warwick Gates in Heathcote won the Health and Safety accolade in the home builder's annual awards, with praise given for strong leadership, great team work and outstanding resourcing.

"The standards of the site were exemplary," says Roger Morton, Head of Talent at Bovis Homes. "There's great innovation, with new ideas tried and tested, and the engagement with the sub-contractors is superb."

The team have implemented new innovative ideas, such as AstroTurf walkways, which have enhanced the already impressive health and safety measures on the site.

After being Highly Commended along with three other developments from across England, members of the site team attended an awards ceremony in Reading, where it was announced that Warwick Gates had won the top spot.

"We were quite optimistic about our chances," says Site Manager, Frank McLane, who has worked at Warwick Gates since May. "We've got a great group of people here and we really pull together. It's a team effort and everyone on site works really hard, so we're thrilled with the award."

Bovis Homes' annual awards recognise individual and team achievements from its locations and offices across the country.

Site work at Warwick Gates, situated off Harbury Lane, began last year and brings a range of three, four and five-bedroom homes in a variety of styles to the area. The first residents moved into the location in December, with more homes set to be occupied over the coming months.
