West Sussex primary school receives support from local housebuilder for Christmas fundraiser

The Nyewood CE Junior School in West Sussex has received a boost from a local housebuilder for its Christmas Fair fundraiser.

Bovis Homes, whose Yapton View location is nearby, donated £250 to the festive event which is taking place on Friday, 13th December between 5pm and 7pm.

The Fair will feature craft stalls, food, drink, games and activities, fantastic raffle prizes and a festive hamper tombola. The event raises vital funds for the school and its students with many of the raffle prizes donated by local businesses and parents.

Alix Laflin, marketing manager in Bovis Homes' Southern Counties region, said: “We are thrilled to support this fantastic festive event at a local school.

“With our Yapton View development close by, it is important to us to support the community here. We wish the event every success.”

Ollie Hughes, teacher at Nyewood CE Junior School and member of the Senior Leadership Team, said: “Like any school nationally, Nyewood CE Junior School has suffered from funding cuts, which have prevented us from providing additional provision to the students here.

“As such, donations from companies like Bovis Homes allow for us to fundraise through various events to enhance the children's education and well-being through equipment purchase, visits and play equipment.

“Working with local and national companies such as Bovis Homes is essential to continue to improve and develop our children's learning so we are very grateful for this donation.”
