A festive event organised by residents at a new-build location in Winchester received a Christmas boost from the development’s housebuilder.

Bovis Homes, who are currently building the new homes at Winchester Village, donated £100 to the community event, which was put towards a Christmas tree and decorations.

The event saw more than 100 residents gather to enjoy mince pies, carol singing and admire the Christmas tree and lights. Santa and his sleigh even made an appearance too!

Alix Laflin, marketing manager in Bovis Homes’ Southern Counties region, said: “It is lovely to see the growing community at Winchester Village, as new residents move into their dream homes in this lovely location and make meaningful connections with their neighbours.

“We wish all the residents a very merry Christmas and look forward to building on our relationship with the community in the New Year.”

Debbie Enright, sales advisor at Winchester Village, added: “It was a wonderful evening, with so many residents in attendance. The visit from Santa on his sleigh was a highlight with artificial snow and sweets for the children. Santa then travelled all around the development visiting each road playing Christmas songs, so everybody was able to enjoy the celebrations!

“The whole event was arranged and managed by the residents which is a testament to the community here. There truly was a lovely, friendly and family-orientated atmosphere offering the chance for people to get to know their neighbours. It was such a success that this is now going to be an annual event!”

Helen Calder, a resident, said: “We are very grateful for the donation from Bovis Homes towards this event. The Christmas tree and lights are going to bring joy to all of the residents here throughout December and the event was a great opportunity to bring people together.”

This charming development was designed by renowned local architect Huw Thomas and has just a few homes left to purchase. The properties offer beautiful traditional charm alongside the benefits of contemporary living.

This semi-rural location boasts a Park and Ride service that sits within the development, giving residents easy access to Winchester and its railway station, for those commuting to London.

Winchester Village is also within walking distance of a convenience store, only two miles from two supermarkets and is close to local schools. While central Winchester boasts independent stores, markets, a popular shopping complex as well a beautiful cathedral.
