Winchester Village provides the perfect home for Hampshire family

Over the last couple of years, Winchester Village has grown into a flourishing new community with Bovis Homes welcoming families, young professionals and retired couples to the vibrant Hampshire neighbourhood.

Simona Gattorno and Francesco Shankar, and their two children, moved into their new house last year and are delighted to now call Winchester Village home.

“We were living in Romsey, but we wanted to move closer to the kids’ school,” says Simona. “Winchester Village is perfect – it is a great location and the houses are lovely!”

With lots of green park areas, woodland and a park and ride facility that goes directly into Winchester city centre, the new neighbourhood offers the luxury of open space, but has easy access to a wide range of amenities.

“We selected a four-bed home, as we often have guests come to stay so it’s useful to have a spare bedroom,” says Simona. “We love our new home – I like everything about it. It was exactly what we were looking for.”

With a spacious sitting room and an open-plan kitchen and family area, the home is ideal for family life. Upstairs, there are four bedrooms with the master bedroom boasting an en-suite bathroom and built-in wardrobe.

“We had the chance to choose the tiles for the bathrooms and the flooring. It was an amazing feeling to be involved in our home’s progress and to make it our own,” says Simona. “We really enjoy living in a brand-new home. It’s lovely to know that we don’t need to make any improvements. Once we had moved in, it was all done for us – it’s perfect!”

Bovis Homes offers a wide range of purchase assistance schemes, which can help buyers to get moving. Simona and Francesco took advantage of the housebuilder’s Home Exchange scheme, which takes the hassle out of moving, with the housebuilder purchasing their previous property and so saving thousands in estate agents’ fees. This meant the couple could remain at home until their new house was ready.

“The scheme was really helpful. We didn’t have to worry about selling our house and we could just focus on our new home,” says Simona.

Winchester Village offers a range of three to five-bedroom homes which have been carefully designed by local architect Huw Thomas.

“The sales team were amazing, and they assisted us throughout the whole process,” says Simona. “The site team were great too – they were always ready to help us if we needed anything after we moved in.

“The whole experience was really positive.”
