Young Kemble site manager wins top award for second year running

- 14 Jul 17

For the second consecutive year, a site manager based at a Cotswolds new homes development has been selected from over 16,000 construction professionals across the country to win one of the house building industry's most prestigious awards.

Adam Elvin, 25, site manager at Bovis Homes' Phillips Lea location in Kemble, has been recognised as one of the best in the construction business, after receiving the National House Building Council's Pride in the Job Quality award.

"We are extremely proud of Adam and the team's achievement," says Supriya Ray, Bovis Homes Western Managing Director. "They have consistently delivered high-quality homes, backed with high-quality customer service. What makes their efforts extra special is the fact that the homes they are delivering are large five and six-bedroom properties."

To win the Quality Award, Adam and his team were judged by NHBC specialists, with every stage of the build inspected. This included Adam demonstrating excellent leadership, technical expertise and robust health and safety processes. The Pride in the Job awards are the highest industry accolades a site manager can receive.

"The main thing I enjoy about the job is making a difference and having control over ensuring we deliver quality homes for customers," said Adam. "It's been fantastic working at Kemble, where the development is now complete. Consistently good trades people and co-ordinated management by my Bovis Homes colleagues has helped us to win this award.

"I am over the moon to have won it for the second consecutive year, and hope to have more to come!"

Adam began his career as a carpentry apprentice with Bovis Homes when he was 18-years-old.  Once he had completed his three-year course, Adam secured the job as an assistant site manager and in 2014 he was promoted to site manager, winning his first Pride in the Job award just two years later.

Bovis Homes' Phillips Lea location includes a range of four, five and six-bedroom homes, built in a traditional Cotswold style. In total, the development brings 50 new homes to the area and construction of the popular location has now been completed.

To celebrate his exceptional achievement, Adam has been invited to a Regional Award ceremony where he could go on to compete for a Seal of Excellence.
