Wells is excellently placed for getting around the beautiful county of Somerset and beyond. It is located on the A39 which takes you 15 minutes South to the popular town of Glastonbury and continues to join up with the M5 Motorway. Head 45 minutes North East from Wells on the A39 to reach the historic city of Bath with its many attractions and stunning architecture. Bristol airport can be reached in 40 minutes by car, with flights departing to a wide variety of European destinations and further afield including America.
The city has a number of good bus connections with services running to Bristol, Bath, Weston-Super-Mare, Shepton Mallet and Glastonbury. A National Express coach connects Wells with London Victoria, also stopping at London Heathrow airport.
A trip to the shops
Home to several individual retailers and boutiques, Wells is the perfect location for a spot of retail therapy. With a variety of local shops offering clothing, kitchenware, toys and much more as well as a selection of high street stores such as Boots and Waterstones, there is something for everyone. There are a large number of cafés, restaurants and bars for those wanting to eat out and groceries can be purchased from the local Waitrose, Tesco or Morrisons. There is also a local market held twice weekly offering a great range of local produce. For a wider variety of shops, Bristol is one hour away with an extensive high street and the popular Cabot Circus and Cribbs Causeway shopping centres.

For keen cyclists, The Strawberry Line cycle path runs along the South boundary of the development, offering an 8-mile traffic free route through a variety of landscapes and the spectacular Cheddar Gorge. Wells Cathedral is located in the centre of the city offering free tours all year round and the nearby Bishops Palace with its breath-taking moat and well pools is open daily to visitors. The city benefits from a leisure centre with indoor swimming pool, an independent cinema and many local community groups catering for all interests and ages.
Education
The schools in Wells provide education for children from 3-18 years. There are three state primary schools within the city of Wells as well as a selection of other schools in the nearby surrounding villages. Ofsted rated 'Good' Wookey Primary Primary School and playgroup is located near the development and in the catchment area for residents of Priory Fields. Both Stoberry Park School and St Joseph & St Teresa Catholic Primary School also achieved a 'Good' score in their latest Ofsted report. St Cuthberts Academy infants and Pre-School has a 'Good' Ofsted rating and The Blue School is the city's state secondary school and is the nearest to the development. - Follow the signs to Priory Fields and the development is 1.2 miles ahead on the left
- Exit M5 at junction 23 for A39 for Glastonbury/Wells
- At the Clarks Village roundabout, continue straight and stay on A39
- At the next 3 roundabouts, take the 2nd exit and stay on A39
- At the Tin Bridge roundabout take the first exit and stayon A39
- Entering Wells, at the roundabout take the first exit on Strawberry Way/A39
- Turn right onto Portway/A39
- Turn left onto Wookey Hole Road, sign posted Wookey Hole
